Senior Pictures Appleton

Think back to your senior photos…what do they look like? Was it an amazing experience or something you’d rather forget? All I really remember from mine was that I was awkward the whole time and sat in a field of flowers. They were fine but very traditional in posing. Senior pictures now can be way more fun and interactive than what you may be used to. We can run through fields, find cool, vintage buildings to lean against, and experiment with different backdrops. If you’re looking for senior pictures Appleton, read below for more details on what a session includes and contact me to inquire about your own senior photo session.

Before the Session

Before you officially book a session, we will talk on the phone and see if we are a good fit. I run my sessions differently than most photographers in the area in that I focus on giving you a really great experience from start to finished product. We are not just going to meet at a park, take photos and never talk to each other again. That is not how I do things and it’s what you deserve!

Once you book a session, I meet with you over Zoom for a 30-minute pre-session consult. During this call, we meet each other face-to-face and get all of your questions answered. We discuss location, set the date of your session, and talk about clothing options. You can even show me what you’re thinking and I can give you feedback on the spot.

Included In the Session Fee

My sessions work a little bit differently than other photographers in the area. Once you book a session, we will schedule your pre-session consult which is included in your session fee. To secure your session, you need to complete your contract and pay the $250 non-refundable session fee. Your session fee includes a 30-minute pre-session consultation call, an online styling tool, your session time, professional editing of 30 images, and a personal view and order meeting.

Products such as album, wall art, and digital images are purchased separately after you view your photos in a slideshow.  If you’ve ever had a professional photography session before, you probably have viewed your photos in an online gallery and clicked through them. Seeing your photos in a slideshow for the first time is a way a better experience and I know you will enjoy it much more than just an online gallery!! I’ll bring the kleenex. 😊

After the Session

After we are done taking your senior pictures, I will either come to your home to present your photos in your slideshow or we can meet over Zoom. We start off our view and order meeting by viewing your slideshow set to music and just enjoying your photos. We reminisce about your session and usually, mom sheds a few tears. It’s an awesome experience and one of my favorite parts of a photography session!

If we are meeting in your home, I will bring along samples of albums, canvas, fine art framed prints, hanging canvas, and wood prints. If we meet over Zoom, I will show you samples via the camera. We will talk about what you’d like to do with your photos. I recommend preparing for this meeting by looking at your home and thinking about the place you’d like to decorate. Albums are also a great keepsake for all of your images. I highly recommend every client gets an album of their photos to enjoy. I will be your guide for narrowing photos down, deciding on sizing and walking you through your options.

The Final Product

When you initially think about getting senior photos in Appleton, you probably think about a digital image. That is what I used to think about before I deep-dived into products such as albums and canvases and framed prints. Now when I think about preparing for a session, I think about that final product because that is what is really going to matter in the end. It’s not going to be the photos that stay on your flash drive or on your hard drive. It’s going to be the photos that you see every single day in your home and that you get to enjoy. That is the real reason that people are interested in getting photos done in the first place. I think we’ve gotten too comfortable with digital images being the solution and being the final product when that’s not what we really want.

A Senior Photography Session – Maddie & Mak – Class of 2022

This whole process I just talked about from before a session, to planning a session, to the session itself, and after a session, is a part of a senior photography session. A senior photography session is so important because they are photos that you’re going to have for the rest of your life. It’s all about remembering this special time in life before your whole world might change. What an amazing time to look back on!

Scroll through some of the photos from a recent senior photography session in Appleton, WI. I did a session with Maddie and Mak, twins from Kaukauna High School. They will be graduating in 2022. We had an amazing sunset session close to home and it was so much fun!! They were up for literally anything, such as climbing into Chinese grass, laying down in the weeds, and fending off the mosquitoes.

After their session, they chose to get a large canvas of the two girls for their living room and a keepsake album for their coffee table. I am so excited to deliver their products to them in a couple of weeks!
