I’m missing the warm summer nights already where the sun didn’t set until later. And what is with this snow already?! I had an awesome session this summer with the Galarnos for maternity photos in Appleton, WI. It was a beautiful night at Bubolz Nature Preserve. David, Kristine, and Mia were dressed beautifully and so much fun to photograph! Take me back!
Typically, maternity sessions are scheduled between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. With first babies, we’re usually pretty safe to wait to closer to 36 weeks. However, with my last two sessions that has not been the case! A little over a week after we took these photos, Kristine had her baby! I’m so glad we were able to get these photos in and capture this short time.
Pregnancy can feel so fast, yet so slow, especially that last month. It’s such a beautiful time where you let go and just let your body do its thing. It’s nothing short of amazing that our bodies can grow a human and then give birth. The “pregnancy glow” is a real thing and Kristine definitely had one!
One of my biggest regrets is not getting maternity photos done. I had it in my head that it didn’t matter, but now I really wish I had photos of that time. I think it’s important for our kids to look back and see what we went through for them. I looked back for photos of my mother when she was pregnant with me and found very few. Not having her here anymore, I wanted to compare our bellies and see what she looked like.
I’m so glad Kristine, David, and Mia have these photos to look back on and share with little William!
