My first session of the fall season for photos 2020 was with the Bennett family at their tree nursery near Appleton, WI. It was gorgeous! When the Bennetts suggested we take fall family photos at their property, I immediately said yes! I love unique places that are comfortable for the family and more secluded. It can be a little awkward to be around a lot of other photographers and families when getting photos taken. Fall is a very busy time for photographers, so many of the popular spots are super busy during that time.
The Bennetts run a family-owned tree nursery in Greenville, WI called Bennett’s Wood an Dale Nursery. The nursery has been in the family since 1969 and has 140 acres of trees to choose from! It is a gorgeous property with trees and ponds. During their session, the fall colors were just starting to come out and it was beautiful!
My favorite part of their session was their willingness to embrace kids being kids. They have three active kids who love to move and run. My sessions are full of movement, running, tickling, and laughter. It melded perfectly with what their kids needed to stay engaged during the session. They loved running towards the camera, running under a blanket, and running around mom and dad! I love how their photos sum up what life looks like for them right now. A little chaotic, but a whole lotta love.
Vanessa shared that she not only loved her photos, but couldn’t believe how much variety I captured so quickly. I can get a lot of wonderful shots quickly, which makes for a better experience for everyone!
I had an amazing summer with families, but fall colors are everything and more. This was my first fall really getting out and working with families. I loved the colors, how the sun set a little earlier, and the best part was meeting these awesome families like the Bennetts!
