Six years ago, I gave birth to my first daughter, Willa. I remember being so excited about her arrival and wondering what her birth would be like. I wanted to be as prepared as possible, so we did the childbirth classes and I looked for a local place to do prenatal yoga in Appleton, WI. I was teaching my own yoga class at the time, but it was more of a power yoga. I wanted a place to connect with other moms who were going through pregnancy and build breathing techniques for labor. I am so glad I took the time to go to prenatal yoga classes at Empower Yoga. I not only formed lasting friendships with other moms, but I was able to mentally prepare for labor. We focused a lot on breathing through difficult poses and connecting with baby. I have some of the best memories from that class.
With my second child, I did prenatal yoga again but went to 95 Yoga House in Appleton, WI. It was also a great experience. I loved connecting with other moms and having time to just myself and baby. It also helped me feel more mobile, especially towards the end of my pregnancy. It was also so exciting to see fellow moms go into labor and visit with their newborns.
Unfortunately, as I was researching yoga studios, it seems there aren’t a lot of options. It was really surprising! I would think there would be so many to choose from. If you are looking for a prenatal yoga class in Appleton, WI, I highly recommend checking out one of these studios below. For other options, I would drop in on a regular yoga class and let them know you are pregnant. They will give you modifications and certain poses/moves that you shouldn’t do. I strongly feel a specific prenatal yoga class is the best, but anything is better than nothing. Another option would be to check out a place like Fit Moms on the Move. They specialize in workouts for expecting moms and post-natal friendly workouts. If you have any questions about taking a prenatal yoga class, feel free to reach out to me through my contact form or social media!
