My top choices for spring dresses for your next family session!
If you live in Wisconsin right now, spring feels like it’s a long way away. I currently see snowflakes falling outside my window. Winter this year has started later than usual and I’m itching to get back outside to beautiful spring weather. Let’s cross our fingers that spring weather is closer than we think! To boost these later winter blues, I’ve been searching for some good dresses to wear for spring and summer sessions. I have my own family session scheduled in June, so I’m going to share the one I picked. Hopefully, this will help you think of some ideas for spring dresses for your family session.
Spring Dress #1 Fehrnvi
The first dress I recommend is this one from the clothing site Fehrnvi. I bought this dress last spring in 2022 for Mother’s Day photos. It worked really well and it was fun to wear. I love the midi length of this dress and the small flower details. The peach color made it easy to find coordinating outfits for my two daughters.

Spring Dress #2 Amazon or Free People
My second choice for a spring or summer dress is this one. You can find it on Amazon for a cheaper alternative or on Free People. I wore this dress for an anniversary session with my husband last year and it worked SO well in our photos. My favorite part is the back! It’s unique and comfy to wear. I also recommend getting an adhesive bra to wear with this dress since it’s backless!

Spring Dress #3 American Eagle
My third choice for a dress for your spring session is this maxi dress from American Eagle. They had some surprisingly nice choices for family session dresses on their site. I am going with this dress for our family session this year. I love the neutral color, small flower print, and bow tie in the back. It’s going to look great in our photos and bonus – it has pockets!!!
I also made a short YouTube video of all these dresses so you can get a better idea of what they look like on. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at nikki@daphodilphoto.com or fill out my contact form.
I hope this post is helpful as you look for a spring dress for your family photo session. I always recommend starting by finding mom’s dress first and then building the rest of the family outfits around yours.
