Whether it's the power of assisting someone with basic communication as a speech therapist or witnessing families express love for one another at a family session, communication lies at the heart of everything I do.
Through photography, I capture love, joy, and connection without anyone uttering a single word.
Photography is my creative outlet and the key to preserving memories that often slip away in the foggy haze of mom life. I deeply understand the significance of photos and videos, having experienced the loss of my mom to cancer in 2012. I'd describe myself as a laid-back, go-with-the-flow type person. WHY I NAMED MY BUSINESS DAPHODIL PHOTO
There are actually two tiny reasons behind the name "Daphodil Photo" - and their names are Daphne and Willa. They are my world, and they inspired me to pick up a camera back in 2017. Witnessing how fast they were growing up as I became a mom, I realized the importance of capturing just how quickly they changed.
In my quest to find a photography name that resonated with my identity and the essence of capturing special moments, "Daphodil" emerged as the perfect choice. The name holds a heartfelt connection to motherhood and my beloved girls. "Daph" pays tribute to my fiery, affectionate, and adventurous little one, Daphne. Meanwhile, "il" embraces my playful, outgoing, and unicorn-loving eldest, Willa. To complete the blend, I couldn't ignore my love for nature and the great outdoors, which started during camping trips throughout my childhood. Thus, "Daphodil" became the genuine reflection of my passion and purpose as a photographer.
So in 2020, just before the pandemic started, Daphodil Photo was born – talk about perfect timing or something like that! 😆
